The riffs are deliciously sludgy, the vocals relentless, and the pounding rhythm section is hypnotic. Their whole sound is unsettling, and deeply textured. It is unfriendly, yet remarkably rewarding.
This is not for everyone, and it never tries to be. You would rarely recommend someone music that is โoutside their wheelhouseโ, and Neptunian Maximalism is outside everyoneโs wheelhouse. But, if you are willing to take this ride, it is such a bizarrely enjoyable experience.
