From 2005 to 2008, Bossk toured their soaring, powerful mix of post metal and sludge, release some EPs along the way. But suddenlyโฆ it was over. The English quintet called it a day and went on to other things and that was that.
Fortunately, the Bossk story is a 2-parter. After four years, they reunited for a few shows and followed it up with a new single. However it wasnโt until 2016, releasing their first full length album, โAudio Noirโ, that Bossk really hit their stride.
With sweeping melodies and soothing soundscapes that make way for momentous riffs and roared vocals, โAura Noirโ cemented Bossk as an exciting and formidable band with something new to say. Their return was not only justified, it was essential.
In June this year, Bossk finally released their second full length album, โMigrationโ. It immediately proved that this triumphant return was permanent, and โAura Noirโ hadnโt been a one-off. With more crushing riffs and tension, as well as more beautiful detours throughout, โMigrationโ is a fantastically strong follow up.
What could have been an interesting, yet sadly short, career now blossoms into something truly brilliant as Bossk continue on the trajectory they set out on with their 2012 relaunch.
